It is just a commonly-used measure in clinical trials for psoriasis treatments. Typically, the PASI can be calculated before, during and from a treatment period as a way to determine how well psoriasis responds towards the treatment under test (a lesser PASI means less psoriasis, generally).
Not all PASIs are identical, however. In clinical trials, it's quite common which a “modified PASI”
